📘 MONTH 1 – FOUNDATIONS (Weeks 1–4)

• Correct seating, posture & stick grip

WEEK 2 – Reading Drum Notation

• Quarter notes, rests

• Counting 1–2–3–4 accurately

• Identifying snare, kick & hi-hat notation

• Single stroke roll

• Start basic rock beat pattern 1

WEEK 3 – Basic Grooves

• Rock Beat Pattern 1

• Rock Beat Pattern 2 (kick variation)

• Hi-hat control exercise

Practical:

• Groove practice with metronome (60 BPM)

WEEK 4 – Simple Fills

• Quarter-note and eighth-note fills

• Snare–tom–floor tom movement

• 1-bar fill structure

WEEK 6 – Playing Songs (Beginner Level)

To be awarded the Skill-Ed Level-1 Drums Certificate, the learner must:

• Play 3 basic grooves

• Play 2 simple 1-bar fills

• Maintain tempo at 60–80 BPM

• Play to metronome for 1 minute

• Play one complete beginner-level song

• Show control, timing & consistency

Minimum Passing Score: 60/100
